“Playing and learning in the Swamps of Giannitsa”
Pre-school students
The new educational programme of the museum invites children to a multilevel game of knowledge and entertainment, combining the concepts of interdisciplinary approach to the local history of Macedonia with the creative use of the modern game-object, through the principles of Aesthetic and Environmental Education. The children, along with the interactive tour of the Museum, are divided into exploration groups and discover through the information given to them through the exhibits and the games of the “magic box”, aspects of the daily life of the people in the villages and the cities of Macedonia (late 19th-early 20th century).
Through games of memory, observation and theatrical dialogue, they become acquainted with the ecosystem of the swamp and the heroes from Penelope Delta’s children’s novel “Secrets of the Swamp”, as they come to life in the collective diorama with specially designed Playmobil figures! The programme is completed with art activities and creative writing games, so that the children can complete their own model, representing life in the Swamp of Giannitsa.
The diorama with the specially made Playmobil figures, presented in the exhibition space of the dioramas of the Museum, is a donation of the collector Mr Tasos Pantazopoulos to the Foundation for the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle, as a product of original and private artistic expression and creation and is not associated with any production series of the company PLAYMOBIL. This construction is not intended, nor will it be made available for sale at the Museum, in shops or in any other place.
