With the participation of the first high schools of Western Thessaloniki, the pilot project “Thessaloniki – Macedonia: Managing the Memory of the War in Society” successfully launched.
The educational programme is organized in cooperation between the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle and the Directorate of Secondary Education of Western Thessaloniki and the School Counselors of the Directorate of Philology, for the school year 2023-2024, and aims to design, implement and present innovative actions in the experiential approach and teaching of the History of World War II in secondary schools.
The approach to History through interaction with the exhibits and the exploration of the museum experience in teaching practice with new techniques and ICT tools and the use of Art and Literature as a vehicle, are transformed into an experiential action by the children who express their thoughts, reflections and their own ideas through sketches, creative writing texts and small researches on the Internet.
We thank all the students and teachers for their great and very creative participation!
