IMMA at the 20th Thessaloniki International Book Fair

In the framework of the parallel programme of events of the 20th Thessaloniki International Book Fair, the Foundation of the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle and the Modern History of Macedonia (IMMA) organized on Friday 17 May 2024 at the Hall of the Hellenic Foundation for Culture at 14: 00 – 15:00, a round table discussion on “The publishing and research work of the Centre for Macedonian History and Documentation Research (KEMIT)” to commemorate the thirty years of KEMIT’s operation.
Brief presentations on the Centre’s publishing, educational and research activities were made by Mrs. Stavroula Mavrogeni, Professor of UOM and Director of KEMIT-IMMA and Eleftheria Mantas, Assistant Professor of the Department of History and Archaeology of the AUTH. The event was attended by the Director of IMMA, Philologist – Museologist, Mrs. Athina Pavlidou and moderated by the Historian – Scientific Associate of KEMIT-IMMA, Dr. Konstantinos S. Papanikolaou. The event was honored with the presence and with warm words about the history of IMMA in their greetings by the Vice-Regional Governor of Culture and Sports of the R.C.M., Mr. Christos Mitas and the President of the HFC, Mr. Nikos Koukis.
Throughout the TBF, IMMA operated a booth at HELEXPO’s Pavilion 13, presenting a large part of the Foundation’s latest publications and educational programmes, as well as the new digital applications with the display of 3D images of 300 exhibits from the new electronic database of its digitized archive.
We warmly thank for their visit, the Secretary General of Contemporary Culture, Mrs. Eleni Doundoulaki, the President of the Development Agency of the Region of Central Macedonia and Vice President of the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization, Mr. Thanos Bega, the Ambassador Extraordinary Mr. Alexander Mallias, the Consul of the Republic of Armenia in Thessaloniki, Mr. Akis Dagazian, the Artistic Director of the State Theatre of Northern Greece, Mr. Asterios Pelteki, as well as all the friends and collaborators of the Museum, representatives of the city’s institutions and journalists.
