Museum of the Macedonian Struggle
In a friendly atmosphere of exchanging wishes for the new year, the Board of Directors and the staff of the Foundation of the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle cut the annual New Year’s cake with the coin falling on the collector Mr. George Thomareis. The event was attended by the President and members of the Association of Friends of the Museum, members of the scientific team of KEMIT, prominent collectors of the city and dear friends of the Foundation, companies that have been supporting the work of the Museum for years, such as ANAX S.A., but also the First Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Thessaloniki, Mr. Manolis Vlachogiannis and the President of the Institute of Professionals of Privacy North. Greece, Mr. Leonidas Seitanidis.
The President of the Foundation, Mr. Nikolaos Margaropoulos noted that the Foundation of the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle, aware of its responsibility, sought to keep alive the memory of the Macedonian Struggle, both with its educational programmes and with the research and publishing work of the Centre for the Research of Macedonian History and Documentation. The Director of the Foundation, Mrs. Fani Tsatsaia, stressed that in the past year the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle continued its cultural, scientific and educational work with publications, research and educational programs, workshops with particular impact on the educational community, lectures, conferences, as well as the organization of periodic exhibitions with historical content, always with a view to the history of the country and the preservation of memory. She underlined that 2020 will also be a productive and creative year and that the scientific staff of the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle is working feverishly on preparations to highlight Macedonia’s participation during the period of destabilization of the Ottoman Empire and the revolution of 1821. He thanked the Museum’s Board of Directors, staff, and the Museum’s Support Team for their excellent cooperation and continuous contribution, factors that allow for the planning and implementation of what is being planned.
