The Museum of the Macedonian Struggle in collaboration with the British Council, the Commonwealth Committee on Military Tombs, the Organization Never Such Innocence and the British Embassy in Greece rewarded the students who participated in the “Never Such Innocence” competition on the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War.

Specifically, on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at 7 p.m., the painting exhibition was inaugurated and a recitation of poems by the students took place. Parents and students toured the exhibition and were photographed in front of their creations. During the event, the students moved the audience by reading their poems and performing their songs accompanied by piano. The impressions of young and old for the young children’s acquaintance with the history of the First World War and, indeed, in a pleasant and educational way, were very positive and the desire to participate in the competition next year was expressed.

The event was graced by the presence of the UK Ambassador to Greece, Kate Smith, who welcomed the event and said: “What struck me during my time as Ambassador to Greece is the fascination that Greeks have with the history of their homeland from ancient times to the present day.”
