Research Centre of Macedonian History and Documentation (KEMIT)
“Today, many schools and other groups of citizens visit the Museum. It keeps full records of the fighters, as well as photographic material. At the Museum’s Research Centre, any researcher can study microfilms from Greek and foreign archives.”
Virginia Tsouderou, 31.9.1980
In 1986, the Board of Directors of the “Friends of the Macedonian Struggle Museum” Association decided to establish a Research Centre, with the encouragement of the late Virginia Tsouderou. KEMIT’s purpose is the scientific study, presentation and dissemination of the modern and contemporary history of Macedonia.
KEMIT maintains a specialized library and electronic database; it collects and processes archive material, publishes monographs and studies, organizes seminars and conferences, provides information and photocopied documents, and it promotes the foundation’s academic goals by all possible means.
